Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "A Place of Power"Sample
Being a parent is not always easy. For me personally, there is no other job as faith-testing as being a mom of a teenager. It makes me overthink in many ways. This is the season of life that teaches, guides, changes, and increases my faith in God.
On the other hand, being a kid is not easy either. You learn to manage your time, choose your priorities, decide what’s right when there are many other things that you want to do. You have to deal with your parents who worry so much it is overwhelming sometimes.
During these times, your only weapon is PRAYER and faith in God.
“Dear God, please help me. I can’t do it. Please take control over my problems.” That’s my prayer every season of my life.
Doing it is not as easy as writing it down. Praying and having faith in what you hope for to happen in the future is nerve-racking because you are in a battle against three things: the reality you see, the overthinking in your head, and your desire to keep believing that everything happens for good.
If you are entering or in this season, be prepared because you are battling against the spiritual forces of evil. That’s why it is necessary to equip yourselves with the right weapons: prayer and the Word of God. There is no other way. There are no shortcuts. These are your only weapons to win this season, win over your thoughts, and win for your family!
Devotion for Parents
How do you deal with your kids when they make fatal mistakes?
As parents, we desire for our children to grow up perfectly, for them not to be naughty or do anything weird. But again, we are hoping for the impossible. Be a parent who’s patient and wise. Don’t judge too quickly because you want them to be close to you and to be able to trust you. Most importantly, involve God in everything. We all need God so much to perform our role well as parents.
Devotion for Kids
1. When you make a big mistake, can you admit it easily to your parents? If not, why?
2. How do you take responsibility after making a mistake and disappointing your parents? What do you do next?
Remember that we always have to pray for our parents and learn to be open to them. God will always help us.
Family Devotion Time
Remember that the devil dislikes a united, loving, and supportive family. All the more reason that we have to be united as a family to defeat the evil one with prayers and the Word of God.
Stand strong in God!
