Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "A Place of Power"Sample
In December 2020, I had the chance to go on a holiday to Bali. As we were driving around the Ubud area, I came across a small Marigold flower garden. Looking at how beautiful the garden was, I asked my husband if we could stop by and take a picture. Unfortunately, we were driving at a high speed, and making the stop would be a hassle. We drove by a couple more times after that, but each time, we didn’t make a stop. The garden was located on the side of a narrow one-way street, so it wasn’t easy to get there with our car.
In early 2022, we went back to visit the island of Bali. On our way back from a tourist attraction, we came across another Marigold flower garden, larger than we had seen before. Coincidentally, we were driving at a very low speed. My husband remembered my request the last time we saw a Marigold flower garden and asked if I wanted to stop by for some pictures. I agreed without hesitation. Finally, I got to take photos with the beautiful orange Marigold flowers in the background. I started with a desire to take pictures in a small Marigold flower garden, but in the end, I got to take pictures in a larger garden with more beautiful scenery.
This sounds simple. But I was so happy. My husband remembered what I had said in the past, and my wish came true.
God is this way. God never forgets our prayer requests. He may not answer our prayers instantly, but He will fulfill the desires of our hearts that we have lifted in prayer at the right time.
We may forget about some prayer requests, but God never forgets. He has prepared something more and better than what we have prayed for or thought of (see 1 Corinthians 2:9). So, don’t stop praying. Always put your hope in God because surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear (see Isaiah 59:1 NIV) our cries and prayers.
