Be Careful!

Everything you were taught can be put into a few words: Respect and obey God! This is what life is all about. God will judge everything we do, even what is done in secret, whether good or bad.

Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 (CEV)

What if your teacher never told you if an answer was right or wrong?

Or your parents never gave you any rules?

Sounds kind of fun at first, but imagine what a person would be like if they never had to obey anyone. If they never had lessons in life, they would not have learned anything! They’d be wild, mean, and dirty.

It is because your parents love you that they teach you how to act right. They don’t want you to get hurt so they teach you rules, like not to touch a hot oven.

God is the same way. He loves you so much that he gives you rules to follow, teaching you the right way to live. He sees everything we do and think, and will judge our behavior. But he is always willing to forgive us when we do wrong. We just need to ask him! He will keep helping us to be more like him.
