What God Wants

We have not stopped praying for you since the first day we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants you to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding his Spirit gives.

Colossians 1:9 (CEV)

What does God want from you? Does he want you to give all your money away? Does he want you to become a doctor to help sick people feel better? Or maybe read the Bible all the time and preach to everyone you meet?

Maybe! As you grow up, God will help you learn how you can serve him.

But for all your life, starting right now, what he wants is your love. Yes! God wants you to love him. He wants to spend time with you. He wants to talk to you, and he wants to hear you talk to him.

When we love God, we will want to do the things he asks us to do, even when those things are hard. We will know what those jobs are because he shows us through prayer, reading the Bible, and getting advice from people in our lives who love God, too.

Loving God makes a wonderful life! Nothing makes us happier than being close to him.
