DAY 15 OF 28

Have you ever watched a tree get blown around by the wind and think "How does this thing not fall down?" While we might only think of trees as a trunk and branches hanging over us whenever we need shade, they're so much more! Like a lot of plants, trees can have really complex root structures connecting them with other trees in the area. These connected roots help them stay strong when they need it most.

During one of the times Jesus told his disciples who he was, he talked about himself in a similar way. He said, "I am the vine" and compared his followers to branches. As we build up our connection with Jesus, he gives us life. Over time, we become more connected to the incredible, never-ending source of life Jesus offers to each of us.

In some of our most difficult moments, our connection to Jesus can make all the difference. When we're deeply connected to Jesus, we can find the strength to persevere, grow, and find new life. Jesus offers us a way to stay connected to him even when we can't see him. We also have the chance to get connected to other Christians and other people who might be able to help support us when times are tough. Together, we make up this massive network of people connected to Jesus, who can live knowing he is never far from any of us. No matter what happens in life, Jesus tells us he is always with us.

About this Plan

I Am

When Jesus was on earth, there were a few times when he told his followers exactly who he was. For the next four weeks, we'll explore some of these stories to find out how Jesus described himself to others. We'll take a look at what changes when we hear Jesus tell us he is love, he is truth, he is always with us, and how he is our Savior.
