Ashes to Amethyst: Unearthing the Jewel WithinSample

Your community plays a vital role in the success of your journey. To succeed, you must surround yourself with people who sharpen and help you improve. Life is not meant to be a one-man show. These days, it is a dangerous thing to attempt to do things on your own. You can either commit to finding yourself a healthy community, or you can be a lone ranger. It helps to have the guidance of spiritual mentors, friends, loved ones, and family.

As our world becomes darker, you can get lost and misdirected easily. Pray and seek God for guidance on where you belong. Ask for discernment from the Holy Spirit to show you who is in your current circle and who needs some loving distance. I'm not talking about throwing people away; however, I recommend space when you have attempted to address a negative pattern with someone who refuses to change for the better. Watch the fruit from your relationships to see if it is nourishing or rotten. If you constantly feel drained by someone in your circle, ask yourself if something needs to be addressed. It is worth the discomfort to find solutions or expose the enemy for who he is.

Your community is there to nurture and nourish you. You are placed in your community to nurture and nourish others. It should be a give-and-take environment, not a drain on your soul and spirit. Your gifts and calling will come alive in a healthy community. Seek a community that sharpens and motivates you on your path to wholeness and fulfilling God's promises in your life.
