Easter - Where It HappenedSample

Jesus and His disciples were in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. As they shared the meal, Jesus used the bread and the cup as symbols of what was about to take place. His body would be broken, and His blood shed on the cross. The disciples didn’t understand what was about to happen, but Jesus did. He would soon die on the cross and rise again.
After the meal, Jesus took the disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. This is a powerful moment. We see Jesus praying to the Father with deep passion and honesty. This isn’t the first time we see Jesus praying. All through the Gospels, we read about Jesus taking time away to pray to the Father. Jesus knew His Father, remember God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the Trinity, three in one. If Jesus would take the time to pray, how much more is prayer important for us?
Understanding what happened in the days before Jesus died on the cross and rose again helps us learn more about the sacrifice He made for us.

About this Plan

The Bible is not a book of made-up stories; it’s about real people and real places, places we can still see today. As we journey through the places where Easter happened, we remember why Easter happened. We remember that Jesus is our Lord, Saviour, and Risen King.
