Easter - Where It Happened

DAY 5 OF 15

When we make Jesus our Lord, it means He is in charge of our lives. We submit to His authority; He’s the boss of every part of our lives. He’s the Lord of our choices; He is the Lord in how we treat others. He is Lord in the direction that we go. That doesn’t mean we don’t listen to our teachers, our parents, or other people in charge. Even when we make Jesus our Lord, we must obey other people in charge. The Bible gives us clear instructions about this. But above anyone else, Jesus is Lord of all. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. It means that in our hearts, we choose to live in a way that puts Jesus first. We can read the Bible, learn about how to follow Jesus, we can pray, and we can ask Him to help us.

We make Jesus the Lord of our lives when we choose to follow Him. It’s as simple as praying. Romans 10:9 is a great example of how to do this. Many people who make the decision to follow Jesus pray this prayer in church, but you can pray it anywhere and anytime. It’s simply saying that we choose to follow Jesus, make Him Lord of our lives, declaring that we believe He died and rose again.

That’s what we celebrate at Easter, that Jesus died and rose again for us.
