Thy Son Liveth: Miracles Still HappenExemplo
Lazarus, come forth
Lazarus is known throughout the world but Martha and Mary also had an encounter and their faith were strengthened.
It’s a frustrating experience to title God in your life but not allow him to occupy the space of the title. If "Provider" is the title you associate with God you must maintain a high level of faith when there's more month than money and when there's overflow. The same when God is Healer, Waymaker, Banner, Protector, and Lord.
Martha associates these titles to Jesus: Lord, Messiah, and Son of God but doesn’t really understand the depths of these titles. Instead of giving context to her understanding, Jesus teaches Martha two new titles: Resurrection and Life.
Martha’s faith wasn’t strong enough to carry the weight of all these titles and in verse 28, Martha reduces Jesus to "The Teacher," excuses herself, and gets Mary involved. Martha loved Jesus and Jesus loved Martha, but Martha connected at the surface level and Jesus wanted depth in their relationship.
Martha knew who Jesus was, but did she really believe He was who He claimed to be? If it were 2019 when this happened, for Martha, Jesus was her homeboy. Martha liked the teachings and miracles but when it got too deep, she deferred to her sister.
Mary took a different approach. She worshipped, but her sadness and the people around her (environment) created a lack of faith. The sister's postures were different.
Jesus was motivated to glorify God. The voidness was perfect for God to change the hearts of everyone watching and to strengthen Mary’s faith while giving depth to Martha’s faith.
The bible says "think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. (1 Peter 4:12 KJV)
"...consider it a great joy...whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4 HCSB
Miracles still happen. But one of the biggest miracles I’ve noticed that people often overlook is knowing that God wants depth in your relationship and a stronger level of faith.
I know that miracles still happen and am excited to hear what great and wonderful things God is doing in your life.

God is still in the miracle business and miracles are a part of the Kingdom experience. I love miracles and believe that God wants to do exceedingly abundantly in our lives for His namesake. Miracles also occur to encourage faith in nonbelievers. In this 7-day plan I compiled a list of some of the miracles I found in the book of John. Read and be encouraged - miracles still happen.
