Heart for the HouseExemplo
A House Committed to the Growth of People
Rafael Bitencourt
We can see in Paul's words the great expectation he had about the personal growth and development of the young leader, Timothy. He encourages him to be independent and responsible in the development of his potential to the point where people look to Timothy and are consistent in their progress.
There is no other person in the world who can provide that which has been asked of you. Nor is there anyone else in the world who has the potential that you have. We are all unique, with unique gifts and a unique vocation. Paul reminded Timothy to not neglect his growth. As people who have been called to be salt of the earth and light of the world, we need to take responsibility for our own growth. Sometimes the best gift we can give to the people around us is to take care of ourselves.
Our goal should be to turn our potential into progress.
It is important to remember that you and I are works of art in the making. Many times we get frustrated because we expect ourselves to be a finished work. We must trust in the process of the work that God is doing.
God is working in each of us, transforming us. He is going to complete the good work that he began in us. He is committed to your growth, and together as The Church, we can develop all the potential that God has called us to reach!
