Heart for the HouseExemplo
A Faithful House
Lucy Mendez
"Lord, here I am, use me!" Have you ever prayed like that?
I remember when I was younger I prayed that prayer. At that time, the Lord using me did not involve public speaking, but instead cleaning the church bathrooms or fixing the chairs. Then the church got a minibus to bring older people to the services.
It wasn't a glamorous service. In fact, at the time no one wanted to do it. But I, in my heart, had the conviction to serve God, so I raised my hand. I ended up driving the minibus until 1 am to get everyone to their homes.
The Church is known by the faithfulness of its people. The faithfulness of that mom who takes the train and travels two hours with her small children to serve in God's house. The faithfulness of that young man who willingly feels in his heart to give with joy, or the faithfulness of each person who serves tirelessly and gives everything to build the kingdom of God.
God has called us to use what we have in our hands, to carry the burden He placed on our hearts. What do you have in your hand today? What are you going to do with it?
Faithfulness is a firm foundation on which God can build. You may think no one sees what you do, but God does, and if you're faithful in the little things, you'll have the foundation to support everything He wants to put in your hands.
