Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"Exemplo
The Pharisees prayed with loud voices in public so that everyone could hear them and they could appear religious. That’s not what Jesus teaches. He says that if you want to talk to the Father, go into your room, and have a personal conversation with Him. What does this mean?
Our Father longs for a close relationship with us. Just like when we have private conversations with our close friends in a quiet setting, our Father loves it when we come to him intentionally just to talk. As you speak to Him, be sure to open your heart to listen to what He says.
Make prayer time a special time to talk with God, not to deliver your wish list quickly. Even if you do have family prayer time, set another time to pray privately and spend personal time with God.
Devotion for Parents
When we are close to God, we become stronger and more ready to face what may come. Your intimacy with God will be a good example for your children to follow because they, too, need God’s presence and help.
What does your quiet time look like? Have you dedicated a time to spend with God so that you may continually be restored and empowered to face the days?
Devotion for Kids
How many times do we have to pray in a day? There’s family prayer, prayers before meals, and now a personal prayer time?
How would you feel if you were only allowed to speak with your parents at a specific time? Let’s say, twice a day. They would turn a deaf ear on you every other time. How scary!
Prayer is a means to communicate with God. It is a time to speak with God the way we speak with our parents. God wants to listen to us and to speak to us. Don’t limit your prayer time, but pray continuously. Make sure you have a special time dedicated to a personal conversation with God.
Family Devotion Time
God longs for us to come and speak to Him.
Apart from family prayer time such as this, make sure that each family member has a dedicated time to pray personally every day.
Create a checklist to mark for the whole family to see if you have done your prayer time each day.
The most diligent family member will get a reward.
Make prayer time a habit that you do daily.
