Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "This Is Living"

Dia 28 de 30

Have you ever been accused of something bad that you actually didn’t do? Or, have you been teased or bullied? It doesn’t feel good! Jesus knows this because He Himself was convicted of crimes that He didn’t commit. He was brought out to die a criminal’s death, death on a cross. But even while His killers were preparing for this, He asked God - His Father…to forgive them! This was a dark time for Jesus. People were mocking Jesus, making fun of Him, taking His clothes apart, saying all sorts of mean things.

He was ridiculed and hated and tormented, but He let it happen. He could have come down from the cross and shown those mockers who He truly was. But He didn’t. He remained silent. He suffered so that we wouldn’t have to! He knows what it is like to be hurt, and understands our pain and sorrow because He was hurt, too.

So why did Jesus go through all of this? This is why: so that no one need be punished; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. We all are recipients of redemption and for good reason. We are all sinners, who require redemption from our sins. Jesus forgave us and took our place so we can have a clean slate – a new life through His death. We can have life anew.

Receive your forgiveness and salvation today by believing and inviting Him into your heart.

Devotion for Parents
“Come on. That’s Jesus! Of course, it’s easy for Him to forgive those who hurt Him. He is God. I am just a man.”

Remember that Jesus went through all of that torment when He was 100% a human being. He felt the pain, the shame, the sadness, exactly like us. The difference is, He was full of love. And all that love gave Him the strength to forgive. Is your heart full of that same love to forgive others?

Devotion for Kids
No matter how much “suffering” you have experienced, it is not comparable to what Jesus endured. If Jesus can forgive those who hurt him, we should, too.

Ask for the love of God to flow and fill your heart. That love will help you to be able to forgive others who have hurt you. Give thanks to God for He has forgiven you first.

Family Devotion Time
Never forget how much suffering Jesus had to endure during his last days.

In His pain, He forgave all who hurt Him.

He graced us with the same forgiveness.

Let’s make a commitment today to forgive those who have hurt us.

What values do we need to hold? During this month we will invite the children to learn about this and teach them the values of truth that they should have in their lives.
