Hooray! Today Is the Day!

Dia 2 de 5

How many minutes are in your day?

"...anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)

I'd had a restless night, knowing a great deal awaited me the next day. How would it be possible to fit all of it into the 1,440 minutes I'd have that day?

Have you ever felt like this, too? Did you know that many people who believe in God are still dominated by fears and doubts and/or overwhelmed by their circumstances?

What is troubling you today, my friend? What is on your mind? When I got up after that restless night and carefully evaluated everything, I realized that out of the upcoming day's 1,440 total minutes, about 300 were triggering my great stress. In other words, not very many, relatively speaking!

And then, when I realized my problem, the coming day's burden suddenly fell off my shoulders. I believed in God, of course! But I began to understand—there was a disconnect in my heart between "I believe in You" and "I believe that You will help me today."

It's like when my smartphone somehow doesn't want to log in, despite being connected to Wifi—a connection disruption, so to speak. When this happens, as it often does at home for me, I have to do a reset—a restart. And suddenly, everything works again!

In the same way, if we ever find ourselves where we're experiencing that disconnect between the two statements "I believe in God" and "I believe that He wants to and will help me today," it's so important to address it immediately. We can do this with a spiritual "reset"! :-)

If you stay connected to God, you will have a good many great hours in your day. Yes, He not only can and will help you (see Isaiah 41:10), but He'll also reward you for taking the time to seek Him, just as the opening verse says!

"...anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)

No matter how many minutes of your day may seem to worry or inconvenience you, know that they're all within the 1,440 minutes God has given you today. And every one of those minutes is in His hand!

You are a miracle!

Déborah
