NEXT STEPS: Lead A Home GroupSample
LOVING PEOPLE
In the Bible there is no shortage on verses about love; loving God, loving people, loving yourself. You can say that the Bible is just one long love story. In order to lead people, you must love them and in order to love people you must first know the creator of love and how much He loves you. When we lead out of love, we put others before our needs, we think about their best interest, we have compassion for them, we are willing to be uncomfortable and have hard conversations to keep them on the right path, and the list goes on and on. When you love someone, there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for them.
If love isn’t our motivation then we end up leading people out of selfishness. We only say things if it’s going to benefit ourselves, we’ll be overly agreeable, we’ll put our needs and desires before theirs, we won’t care about their life or the path they are going down, and we won’t feel compelled to have difficult conversations with them out of fear they won’t like us.
If you have not come to the knowledge and understanding of Christ’s love for you, we want to encourage you to spend time just looking up verses of His love and allow that to renew your mind.
