Five Traits of a Courageous Leader

DAY 5 OF 5

Five Traits of a Courageous Leader – Part V

In our final lesson on courageous leadership, the prophet Daniel was commanded to eat meat and drink wine that had been sacrificed to other gods. This violated the Jewish command not to submit to other gods.

Daniel was principle-based and resolved in his decision to say “no.” He also sought understanding and became creative in finding a win/win solution, but it required the final trait: “Persistence.”

Daniel approached the chief official and received favor, but no success. He didn’t stop there. He was persistent.

Daniel 1:11 says, “Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, …Please test your servants for ten days.”

Even though the commander had said no, Daniel persisted and succeeded in obeying God and passing the test. Sometimes courageous leadership requires persistence!
