Tough As Nails: DanielSample

Daniel 5 tells one of the scariest stories of the Bible about a mysterious hand writing on the wall announcing the end of Belshazzar’s reign of terror. Shortly, after, Ezra returns with the exiles to Jerusalem. He also, in chapter 10 calls for repentance. Both Jews and Pagans have equal need for repentance. None of us are above it or privileged beyond our need to repent before a holy God. As the metaphor of Zechariah foretells, there will be a reckoning, a measuring line that tests whether we stand up to God’s standards. By the way, this metaphor in Zechariah 2 is recycled in Revelation 11. What happened before will happen again.
