Daniel 12 is arguably the most difficult passage to interpret in all the Bible. No worries, the message is still crystal clear—God has a plan and He is right on time. This intricate prediction in Daniel 12 revolves around Jesus who came at just the right time. Zechariah 12 also revolves around Jesus and how he came in just the right way. Zechariah predicts the suffering of God himself. While that sounds astounding, it is the only way to make sense of Jesus. He is the very God who suffered for us. When Jesus died on the cross, the mystery of Zechariah 12 became clear. And when he comes again, the mystery of Daniel 12 will be equally clear. We can, therefore, have faith in an uncertain future because of the certainty of our past—Jesus died for our sins, rose for our justification, and now sits at God’s right hand advocating for us to make it through tribulation.
