Tough As Nails: DanielSample

Daniel showed extreme wisdom in his day. Just a few short decades later, a Jewish teenager named Esther follows in his footsteps. Both were exiles under a foreign ruler (Daniel in Babylon; Esther in Persia). Both were in closest proximity to the king and both honored God to save their people. Zechariah describes similar political events using apocalyptic writing style—a writing style that utilizes wild metaphors with spiritual meanings. Though the images of Zechariah are difficult to understand in a different day and time, by putting them next to Daniel and Esther, we see clearly the issues that they faced.
