DAY 7 OF 9

CENTER OF THE WORLD

Lyrics:
Well I’ve been to the center of the world
Its a pretty dark and dreary place to be
Aside from the mantle and the pressure I couldn’t handle
The only one I saw there was me

Chorus:
It was a lonely place to be
Just the rocks and me
I’d been digging for diamonds all of my life
I only found stone
At the center of the world, I was all alone

I dug deep within myself
Down to the very core
Looking for the treasure so I could have some measure
Of what my life was for
I thought that love was ”taking in”
Like opening your lungs for air
But as I struggled with breathing
I had this strange feeling
That love was meant to be shared
Oh, Love was meant to be shared

Bridge:
Cause its where you find your home
Its where you’re not alone
You will find yourself
When serving someone else
It was a lonely place to be
Just my thoughts and me
I’ve been doing for myself
All of my life
Only to find
At the center of your world,
You’re all alone
You’re all alone

Themes: Our need for community, service, and Christ’s love; which is to be shared.

Thoughts to consider as you listen and read through this study: Christianity is not simply for "you and Jesus", but it involves God making a people for himself. This is the church. The love of Christ compels us to share his love with others. Our love for Jesus is not to be kept to ourselves. The church should love in a way that the world can see who God is. As a Christian, we need the fullness of the church to experience the fullness of Christ.

About this Plan

Folk & Field | A Musical Study on Community & the Kingdom of God

The Christian gospel is about a Holy Triune God making his home amongst a holy people in a renewed and redeemed creation. Jesus is all about folk and field. In this musical 10-day study from Garden City, you will follow the story of man once alone in sin and bad company. It tracks his journey into God's family on earth and in the kingdom yet to come.
