After a collection of prophecies around God’s judgment on Israel, the book of Isaiah begins to take a more hopeful turn: focused on the new thing that God wants to do through the nation of Israel to bless the world. Here, we’re reading the announcement of a hope that is yet to come, one that is for those “who know righteousness.” A day is being prophesied about when the exile that Israel is in will be over, and they will be redeemed for a new purpose to bring “good news” to the world.
