Israel is introduced to a new character, one that’s a righteous, suffering servant who will make a sacrifice for humans. Israel is encouraged to be prepared to “enlarge the place of their tent.” God’s new thing is going to involve Israel being a blessing to the rest of the world, and they are invited to participate by responding in humility to the suffering servant. God’s promise is to be their redeemer if they will be His “seed,” and promises that “no weapon formed against them will prosper.”
