GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 1 - GOSample

May 4—Barrier: Fear of Man
Read
John 7:11-13
Reflect
As we reflect on today’s Gospel reading, it is true that even today people are looking for Jesus. And just as in the first century, people have divided opinions about who Jesus is. What was the main reason why people then failed to speak openly of Jesus? What would be the reason today in your opinion? Why is the fear of man, especially of people in authority, such a powerful determent? Think about some positive steps you can take to help people you know discover who Jesus is.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Mark 16:15. Spend a few minutes beginning to memorize it.
