GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 1 - GOSample
May 7—Barrier: Pride
Read
2 Chronicles 7:14
Reflect
Pride is an attitude of the heart that denies or diminishes our need for or dependence upon another. This is especially grave when pride keeps us from recognizing our need for God and our complete dependence on him. We trust in our own plans, power and programs. God is calling us in today’s passage to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek his face and turn from our wicked ways (pride being chief among those). What will God do? He will hear. He will forgive. And he will heal.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Mark 16:15. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
The world is filled with uncertainty and fear, but God is moving. Now is the time to join believers from around the globe in the largest movement of prayer, caring and sharing the message of hope beyond fear. We will discover that there are barriers to us fulfilling God’s desire for us to share the hope he has given us.
