GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 1 - GOSample

May 5—Barrier: Lack of Compassion
Read
Matthew 9:35-36
Reflect
There is no doubt that Jesus was full of compassion. Matthew tells us that when Jesus saw the crowds of people, he had compassion. It was an informed compassion. He could see their plight and what caused it. Not only did he have the knowledge, but he also did something about it. What were some of the things that Jesus did? How can you tell whether you lack compassion in the situations you encounter? How can you respond differently?
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Mark 16:15. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.
