River Valley Church SOAP - Part 10Sample

Proverbs has a really special ending to it. If you revisit the beginning of the book of Proverbs, you may remember that there were some poems that reflected on a wise woman. Proverbs 31 revisits this theme, reflecting on the characteristics of a wise woman, and inviting us to be like this woman who fears the Lord. In the ancient world, it was very uncommon for wisdom literature to reflect women this way, and we’re seeing God’s heart for elevating women higher than most of the ancient near eastern world would have. The theme of a woman of wisdom also contrasts Eve’s fall in Genesis, reminding us that walking in wisdom and fearing the Lord can help us to undo the tragedy of the human condition.
Taiwan's working class is less than .5% Christian. Let's pray that God would instill these workers with purpose and courage to share the gospel with coworkers so we may see a movement of Taiwanese businessmen and women turning to the Lord.
