Your New Identity For A New EraSample

PROMOTION

The Lord himself is my inheritance, my prize. He is my food and drink, my highest joy! He guards all that is mine. (Psalm 16:5, TLB)

Knowing who you are is one matter. Knowing whose you are, confidently launches you into a new way of living. You are a born of a loving Heavenly Father. Your elder brother is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the King of all kings, the ruler who reigns supreme, the lion who roars with power but who is as gentle as a lamb. He is your inheritance; your portion, your promotion-giver. A life in Christ comes with a purpose. The primary purpose is to get to know God, to nurture a relationship with Him, so you can learn His ways, know His heart, and co-labor with Him to share His love with the world. To know Him and to make Him known, that is your role. 

This new identity calls for action on your part, not passivity or indifference. Jesus told the parable of the sower—and the sower lived up to his name. He went out to sow seed. Read the full story and you will see that the conditions were not always favorable, nor did he wait for a perfect time, or make excuses as to why he couldn’t sow. He went out to sow despite the results. One thing is certain: he kept sowing. Some of the seeds produced a 30 percent harvest, some 60, and then some gave a 100 percent return. If you are only going to focus on the results, you will cease to sow. The fruitfulness and the abundance of the harvest come when you keep sowing. Sow sparingly and you will reap sparingly. Sow generously and you will reap an extraordinary harvest. 

Now is the time for me to walk with purpose into my inheritance as a child of the King.
