CONTINUALLY TRANSFORMING

When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand-new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17, TLB)

Jesus gave us the ultimate commitment to a new life by the shedding of His precious Blood. Our ever-increasing commitment should be to make the changes that honor Him. Amongst other commitments: filter your words through His Word. Forbid all negative thinking and speaking and get rid of any attitude that does not align with His character. Consult God on all matters about your life. Don’t take foolish chances. One cannot gather fire to themselves and expect not to get burned. Ask God to show you His will and His way. Be in the moment so each minute of your life is meaningful. Whatever is in your life that hinders, binds, or that would stop the joy of God’s Presence in your life, root it out. The abundant life in Christ is made up of daily choices that align with who He is. 

One of the meanings of transform is to change in appearance and/or nature. This is precisely what happens to you when you are Born Again. His Presence takes up residence within you, and you begin the process of change by the Holy Spirit to be transformed into His likeness and manner. As He re-shapes, re-trains and reforms you, you start to shine His light to those around you and influence others by His love, His knowledge, and His wisdom. It is liberating to be free from worry, to let go of the anxieties of daily living, drowning in the guilt of past behavior, fear of failure, and the future - and depression that may have been part of your life before you were saved. His shed Blood cleanses, delivers, heals, and makes you free indeed! Your life in Christ is a continual upward journey, where you take on more of His identity and ways and give a glorious expression of Him to the world around you. In Him, you need never know lack - and you need never go back. Your portion in this transformed life is joy, joy, joy!

Thank you for your redeeming love, Lord Jesus. Thank you for making me brand new. May I live a life worthy of your great love for me.
