Week Two - Day Two - God is always with me

Welcome to our Time to Shine devotional!  As we journey together through this devotional, we pray it will help our kids to understand that God is light.  He has given us His spirit to help us navigate through the darkness, just like a lighthouse helps ships to navigate dangerous waters, God’s light helps us to navigate this life.  We find His light in His word, in His people and in His presence.  Through well known Bible Stories we want our kids to know that the darkness cannot overpower God’s light!  

READ:

‘The Lame Man’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 484 - 487) or in Acts 3:1-10.

Peter and John saw a man who couldn’t walk. He didn’t have anyone to help him, so he was begging for money. 

It’s so sad that there are people in this world who don’t have enough money to buy food or have a home. God cares about every single person in the world, so we as the church do too! 

ASK:

Is there someone you can help today? 

Or do you have an idea to fundraise for the Everyone Matters Fund?  

REMEMBER:

The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light. (John 1:5)

SAY:

I can shine your light in the darkness,

With your love and kindness.

We don't ever need to fear,

Because you are always near.

Your light is forever,

Overpowered by darkness?  Never!

We can trust in your light,

Shining so bright.

Leading us through even the darkest days, 

In your love and hope we will always stay.

In Jesus name, Amen.
