FAITHFULNESS
It’s easy to forget things, especially when everything is shifting and changing so much. (Keeping up with the status quo is hard enough!) I’m not sure what I would do without my phone reminders. I like to think these reminders are a modern equivalent of the stones at Gilgal. Those stones say, Remember my great faithfulness to you… you don’t want to forget this. Every time the Israelites walked by the stones, they were reminded, through a physical sign, of God’s goodness, provision, and power. Joshua wanted to make sure the Israelites remembered that God brought them out of slavery and into his promises for them even when they weren’t sure where they were going. The stones became a multigenerational reminder that God’s past provision pointed to his future faithfulness. As we walk through transitions and turbulent times, let’s remind ourselves of God’s past provision, his present goodness, and his future faithfulness.
Pray – God thank you for your past, present, and future faithfulness. Help me to remember it when life gets difficult.
Plan – Find an object that reminds you of a time when God has showed up for you or for someone in your life.
Pursue – Place this object somewhere you will see it throughout your day and pray for a heart to receive the faithfulness of God.
