Paul here encourages believers to be accommodating and considerate of one another and what might cause them to stumble. However, Paul regarded circumcision too much to ask of Gentiles; for Gentiles to accommodate Jewish food when together was a minimal sacrifice for unity. Paul closes the letter by commending many of the people with whom he has labored in his travels. In Paul’s culture, this deep social meaning, Paul’s interest in Rome’s believers, illustrates concretely the character of love he encouraged people to embrace throughout the letter.

Since the surrounding area is ridden with conflict and unrest, let's pray that refugees who find their way into Jordan would clearly hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
