Devotions From John's GospelSample
Jesus knew Judas Iscariot was going to betray Him and He was troubled. However, the Saviour’s love remained unchanged. Was the morsel of food He gave Judas an expression of His love? This expression of love did not dispel the darkness in him. Judas continued with his dark plan and went out into the dark night.
My dear sister, brother! Is Judas’ response to Jesus a warning to you?
Have you held on to your plans knowing Jesus did not approve them?
Do you have the courage to align your plans to those of your Savior even if it means self-denial and personal loss?
What does it take to stand against Satan when you are tempted?
Prayer
Jesus, my beloved Savior, shine on me to reveal areas of my life where I had chosen darkness instead of the light of your countenance. Please forgive me. Give me your love and mercy and restore me to your fold.
Jesus might say…..
My child, I love you even when you go wrong because I know your weakness. I rejoice when you seek to return. I take over when you surrender. Hold on to me when you do not clearly see the way ahead. I shall lead you on.
