Devotions From John's GospelSample
It is Thomas this time who speaks up asking, “Where are you going? How do we follow you? We do not know the way!” Jesus presents himself as the answer to his questions. “I am the way, and the truth and the life.” Jesus is the route map – the way; the destination of the journey – the truth and he is also the strength and spirit to help pilgrim - the life. Jesus adds an explanation of himself as the truth: Knowing Jesus is getting to know the Father.
Dear sister, brother! How well do you know Jesus? Jesus is the way to go – your lifestyle! Did you find the Father - the truth in Jesus? Have you experienced the empowering spiritual strength of his life in you?
What can you do to get to know him better? You re-read his life.” biographies – the Gospels and spend time talking to Him – pray! Just get to know Him better! If you need help, meet your pastor.
Prayer:
Jesus, my Savior, I know you as “the way, the truth, and the life.” Please help me understand you better and lead me to the Father. I would tell others about you if only knew you more intimately.
Jesus might say…..
My child, I am delighted to know your interest in walking with me. Take your first step and I will lead you into greater understanding as we walk together towards the truth, our Father. Come, hold my hand.
