Behind the Lines: Encouragement for Military PersonnelSample
Know Your Limits
We all have a breaking point because we’re human beings. It’s basic biology. At some point, if we don’t recognize our limits and operate within them, our limits will let us know where they are and will issue warnings. But what will you do when you encounter your giants? Will you crouch down and flee? Will you abandon your teammates to fight alone?
We must be excellent ambassadors for God as representatives of his great name, and as such, we should never run like cowards. He will give us strength to fight, and he will deliver us from those who are our enemies. Most of you have zero issues with fear. On the contrary, the issue is knowing your limits. Yes, we serve a faithful God who will be with us through every battle. But at the same time, we must not bring reproach to His name through our actions. Today, work within your limits, but work in such a way that those who serve alongside you want to know more about this Jesus you proclaim. After all, what more powerful testimony is there than the transformed life?
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the eyes to see, the mind to know, and the heart to understand my physical limitations. Please give me the will to work within them and the power to overcome them when necessary. Amen
