Behind the Lines: Encouragement for Military Personnel

DAY 6 OF 7

Truth Creates Conflict

At some point in life, we face painful truths. Often, the confrontation with truth creates conflict that is the foundation for many of the calls you answer daily. It’s not always easy to be the messenger or the recipient of truth. If you ask everyone in the military why they serve, many of the answers would sound different, but all would come down to the same root reason: commitment to truth. The basis of our relationship with Jesus is our consistent commitment to Him.

We carry out our duties because of our commitment to truth and our nation. When the commitment fades, the motivation to serve will fade too. The reason why any of us serve boils down to our commitment to the cause. It is a high calling to serve something bigger than ourselves. While everyone you encounter will not want to adhere to the truth, they will be held accountable for their response to it. Whatever your assignment, be a good steward of the truth today.

Heavenly Father, help me keep my focus not only on why I began my military career but also on you. Protect me from the attacks of the enemy, both spiritually and physically. Amen.
