SWHW Bible Reading Plan: October 2021Sample
Top Takeaway from Somer Phoebus:
When you study God's Word, it's important you go deep, but reading the prophets should remind you to also go wide. That wide lens helps us understand books like Zechariah. With so many dreams and visions and some pretty strange imagery, we have to make sure we don't get distracted from the main point.
Here at the end of this book, Chapters 9-11 give us an alarming picture of a messianic king also revealed to us as a shepherd entering the scene and being rejected by his people.
Then Chapters 12-14 give us a beautiful picture of repentance and redemption.
Rejection.
Repentance.
Redemption.
Sound familiar? If by some chance it doesn't, it will when you get to the gospels. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.)
We rejected Him.
He forgave us.
He redeemed us.
And that should move us!
God, thank You for Your beautiful Word. Thank You for the way You compiled the Scriptures to show me over and over again that Your plan was and is better! Help me to understand and retain what Your Word says and let it change me to be more like You. I love You. Amen.
About this Plan
With God's Word as the foundation, each devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical 5-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
