Prayers & Promises for First RespondersSample
Perseverance
One of the most challenging things you will do in this life is commit to following Christ. This world is a fallen place, full of evil, and if you remain on the sidelines of life and live your own way, you will likely have less trouble. You’re no threat to the enemy that way. But there’s a need for followers of Christ to persevere and endure challenges, not to cower in times of hardship and stress. You may not receive healing immediately after praying for it. You may not receive that job or financial relief the first time you ask God to help you. And you may not see many other answers to your prayers immediately. God’s not a slot machine. Faith requires action rooted in obedience. The key is to persevere through the difficulties even when you do not achieve immediate success. Keep walking the path God has put you on, remain faithful with the gifts and responsibilities you’ve been given, and in due season, you will reap a reward.
Heavenly Father, in the times of great challenges, give me the strength and willpower to endure and persevere so my life may honor your name and bring glory to you. Amen.
What steps can you take to endure through trying times?
About this Plan
As a first responder, you bravely serve the public despite the dangers your profession presents, yet your service doesn’t come without cost. In times of hardship and adversity, you must rely and stand on the foundation of God’s Word. With content from “Prayers & Promises for First Responders” by Adam Davis and Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, these 7 days will help first responders draw closer to God and find strength.
