Strength
One of the most familiar Scripture passages on strength is Philippians 4:13, where Paul writes, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (NKJV). The Greek word for strengthen here means “to put power in.” This verse isn’t as much about accomplishing things in life, as it is often portrayed, as it is about allowing God to strengthen us by his spirit in times of hardship and times of abundance. We must learn to lean on his presence for strength in good times and in times of difficulty. As he sustained many throughout Scripture and in our time, he will sustain you as you continue to trust him and depend on his presence for strength. No matter the challenges you face in life, true strength isn’t found in physical or mental ability to overcome a challenge. Rather, it is rooted in the resiliency of the spirit man who is led by the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your strength, which sustains me through all things. Amen.
Have you experienced the strength of God’s presence in your life?
