SWHW Bible Reading Plan: December 2021Sample
Top Takeaway from Jessica Hottle:
Up until this point, you have read about a dragon, a beast, and a prophet. Chapter 17 talks about a prostitute bearing the name of Babylon, which represents idolatry, which we know is the root cause of every sin since Adam and Eve.
Read Jeremiah 51:13,
"You who live by many waters
and are rich in treasures,
your end has come,
the time for you to be destroyed."
Now read Revelation 17:1,
"Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters."
I love how God reveals and affirms who He is throughout all the Bible.
I am also going to challenge you to read Jeremiah 3:6-10 and seek out what idolatry causes. I will give you a hint: Separation from God. In verse 10, the Lord says they did not return to Him with their heart.
God desires and wants a connection with His people. However, it's His people that disconnect from Him. God loves us. However, it's not that He couldn't live without us. It's that we couldn't live without Him.
Father, we are so grateful for Your continuous pursuit of us even when we don't pursue You. Thank You for guiding us and showing us the way, Your way, that leads to life and peace. We love You, Amen!

About this Plan
Using God's Word as the foundation for our conversation, every devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family, and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical five-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
