SWHW Bible Reading Plan: December 2021

DAY 23 OF 23

Top Takeaway From Audra Haney:

When I read the words of this final chapter of God’s Word, I am overcome with tears.  Doesn’t it all hinge on this? All my devotion, all my focus, all my hope?

He will come again.

He will keep His promise, just as He kept his promise to come to earth as our Messiah and Savior. He will keep His promise to come back as our King. From beginning to end, He has been true and trustworthy- so we can throw our full weight onto this promise.

He will come again.

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” Revelation 22:12

What a reminder that the temporary suffering in this world- the weight, the heaviness, the stress, the sickness, the rejection, the misunderstood- WILL cease. No more curse. God’s presence will permeate all and be our light.

And, we will find that not one moment of obedience will have been wasted or in vain.

Daily we battle the world’s most attractive lies that scream, “Work the world’s way. Live the world’s way. Love the world’s way.”  But, when I fix my eyes on this scene in Revelation, all that the world has to offer pales in comparison. All the world has to offer is a fleeting counterfeit.

May we be the thirsty, the watchmen, and the bride who empathically says, “COME!”

Let us work, let us love, let us live for this beautiful promise.

He will come again.

Even so, come, Lord. We are so thirsty for Your return. Our eyes are fixed on You. This world is dark and full of suffering, but we look to the day ahead when You will restore all for Your children. Thank You that from beginning to end, You are a Promise Keeper. We put our full weight on You. May Your grace be with us in abundance until that day. Amen.

About this Plan

SWHW Bible Reading Plan: December 2021

Using God's Word as the foundation for our conversation, every devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family, and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical five-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
