SWHW Bible Reading Plan: December 2021Sample
Top Takeaway from Caroline Foster:
In Revelation 15, the apostle John saw an amazing sight from heaven. First, he saw seven angels having seven plagues, which he said are the last plagues to occur to finish God’s wrath. These seven last plagues are also called the seven bowl judgements. Next, he saw what looked to be a sea of glass glowing with fire and standing beside the sea. Those who had conquered the beast, its image, and its ''666'' number were standing in front of the sea of glass, and they were holding harps.
They sang the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb (Revelation 15:3-4):
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
The song of Moses celebrated Israel's deliverance from Egypt (Exodus 15), and the song of the Lamb celebrates the ultimate deliverance of God’s people from the power of Satan.
You know what’s really cool? If you are in Christ, the song of the Lamb is a song you get to sing! Why? Because we know that God has already won the battle. Sure, evil hasn’t yet been destroyed by His judgment, and the eternal reign with Christ hasn’t yet begun, BUT we know as Believers, it’s coming.
Now we wait for God’s timing to be revealed.
In Revelation 15:8, John saw the temple filled with the power and glory of God. The key to that eternal glory and power is and will be God’s holiness. So how do we respond in the waiting?
We pursue holiness ourselves. That’s truly the only suitable response.
A few questions I am asking myself in light of the Song of Moses and Song of the Lamb:
- Do I live like I trust that God’s deeds are great and marvelous?
- Do I trust Him even when it doesn’t make sense to me?
- When others look at my life, do they see a wife, mom, and business owner who trusts God’s just and true ways > her own?
- Do I take time in the quiet, behind-the-scenes moments of my day to let go and ask God for His name to be glorified truly?
- When success in the workplace comes, do I humbly give God all the glory?
- Do I lay aside my pride daily at the door of motherhood and work and trust that God alone knows what’s best for my children, coworkers, and employees?
- Do I look at my work as a way to worship God?
- Is my goal to be more like Jesus or more like the world? I can’t do both.
Lord, I lift up the woman reading this devotional today. I needed this scripture and time with You just as much as she does. Truly, we all need more of You. The more I pursue holiness, the more I realize my desperate need for You. Thank You, God, for sending Your precious Son to pay the ultimate sacrifice for my life and the life of the woman reading this today. Without You, we are nothing. Nothing but lost. I pray that as we enter our day today, we will be focused on becoming more like You and less like the world. I pray we trust Your ways, even when it doesn’t make sense to our limited minds. We love You, Jesus. Use us as a beacon of light wherever You call us to go. Amen.

About this Plan
Using God's Word as the foundation for our conversation, every devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family, and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical five-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
