Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"

DAY 24 OF 31

A child feels secure when his/her hand is being held by a parent. They do not worry about jumping over a puddle or going for a little jog. They have nothing to be scared of because they know that someone is holding their hand and protecting them.

Now imagine your right hand is being held by God whose power is limitless, the Creator and Lord of the universe, the Owner of everything. If just being held by your parent already provides a sense of security, imagine when God is holding your hand. You have nothing to fear. You are safe and protected.

The promise of God today serves as a reminder that God is always willing to hold our hand. He does not do it momentarily. He will never let go of your hand nor leave you. He only asks for one thing – for you to stay with Him. Surrender your life to Him and walk with Him.

Devotion for Parents
As parents, we understand the importance of holding our children’s hands, especially when we cross the road or are in places that require precautions. We will hold on tight and make sure they don’t slip.

In the same way, God, the Father, holds our hand. He makes sure that we are safely away from harm.

What a wonderful Father!

Devotion for Kids
When your parents hold your hand, but you keep trying to break free, insisting to walk alone, then there will be times when you will fall because of your carelessness.

Similarly, when God holds your hand, you must stay calm and stay close to Him. Let Him hold on to you and make you safe, comfortable, and free from all the bad things around you.

Family Devotion Time
Sing praises to God together with your family.

Lift your thanksgiving to a faithful God, who will never leave you.

He holds your hand and will never let go.
