Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"Sample
Today is the last day of the month. For one whole month, we have learned to prioritize what matters most in the life of a believer. We learned to pray. We learned to wait upon the Lord. We learned how to have friends wisely. We learned how to share about God. And much more. Above all, we have learned to do everything to show our love to God and others.
It is impossible to do everything perfectly right away. We need to practice every day. We need a commitment to keep us going even when we feel that we can’t carry on. We need the right community to strengthen us and to constantly remind us to do our part.
We train our physical body for a sports competition. We train our spiritual body to run the race of a lifetime. Remember, First Things First!
Devotion for Parents
How often do we train our physical body to reach an ideal weight or to win a sports competition?
How often do train your faith and spirituality to grow in your knowledge of God?
What have you done or will do in the future that relates to the lessons you have learned this month?
Devotion for Kids
Oh no! I don’t like sports because I will get sweaty. But I know that exercise is important to maintain good health. I’ll do it even when I don’t feel like it.
Similarly, we need to exercise our faith. There may be times when we feel lazy, tired, etc. But when we realize how important it is, that’s when our commitment will truly help us.
What is your commitment?
