Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"

DAY 30 OF 31

Our God is a living God. Wow!

Just like the disciples when they first learned about the resurrection of Jesus, their fear and sadness instantly disappeared. They were so excited to witness the resurrected. Jesus showed Himself before their eyes to prove that He was alive.

When Jesus ascended to heaven, the fear came back. Jesus said to them, “I am alive and I am with My Father. I will send a Helper for you. You can be sure that I am alive and will always be with you until the end of time.” These words empowered the disciples to spread the Gospel of a living and powerful God to the ends of the world.

Are we certain that the God we worship is a living God? Even though we were not there when Jesus was resurrected and lifted to Heaven, we can be certain of it because our lives are testimonies of His love; evidence that He is alive and at work. Are we ready to be witnesses of God like the disciples? Are we ready to say “He is alive! Because He lives, I can have tomorrow.”

Devotion for Parents
Jesus gives us the power to be His witnesses, starting from our inner circles – our family, to the ends of the world.

Have we been a witness who spread the news of a living and powerful God? Has our whole household come to know Jesus? Have our friends heard about the Good News?

If not, this is the time. Go tell the world about Him and wholeheartedly say, “It is good to be ALIVE!”

Devotion for Kids
Even though we didn’t see Jesus resurrected or go up to Heaven, we can be sure he did because the Word of God says so.

What can we do? We can be His witnesses and spread the Good News, maybe to our grandparents, our extended family, friends, or the people who take care of us every day.

Are you ready? Say this loudly, “It is good to be ALIVE!”

Family Devotion Time
Make a list of people around you who have never heard about Jesus.

Starting today, pray over them and find an opportunity to tell them about the living God.
