Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"Sample
On the first day of the month, we are reminded again of what matters most. The verse says exactly that. What matters most is to love God and others.
Love. A word that’s easy to say, but honestly, hard to do. As humans, we tend to love when we are loved. We feel that it is easier to give when we have been given. This applies to everything else. But that’s not what God teaches us. He has loved us when we were still sinners, even when it breaks His heart. He freely gives knowing that we can’t repay Him. Everything He does is simply beyond comprehension.
As we meditate upon His Words, let us hold on to this particular verse as the foundation of what we do. Let us learn to love God more each day (CONNECT WITH GOD), and love others so that they can also be Christ-followers, like us (MAKES DISCIPLES).
Devotion for Parents
As we enter the new year, let us reflect on our journey over the past year.
Where do we rank “loving God and others” on our priority list? Or did we put ourselves as the center of the universe?
How do we show our love? Please discuss this with your children and practice it.
Devotion for Kids
Do you know what it means to love God and others? Loving someone who loves us is easy. How about loving someone who hurts us? It’s difficult, isn’t it?
How do we love God and others? Please discuss this with your parents.
