Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"Sample
Have you ever had this experience: You tried hard but didn’t get the results you expected? You have tried to live a straight and righteous life, you have tried to please God, but how come you still don’t get what you expect?
In Acts 3:1-10, a man was crippled from birth, and every day he sat near the gate of the temple. Initially, he may have hoped to get help from others for healing or significant life changes. But over time, all he had gotten was charity from passerby. At the end of the story, suddenly a miracle happened and the dream was resurrected again when he met God through Peter and John. He was healed and after that day, his life was never the same.
So, never give up! Remember: God’s time is not our time. Giving up is not an option! Staying away from God is not the solution!
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Devotion for Parents
Ponder upon what had happened last year. The failures, and how you got over them and finally reached this year. There may be things that have not been restored, that are still looking bad. Whatever happened, hold on to the promise of God today that He is faithful. His ways are not our ways. Know this: His provisions are always good, perfect even, and they come on time.
Surrender your hopes and dreams into God’s hands. Trust in Him.
Devotion for Kids
If you were the crippled beggar in Acts 3:1-10, how would you feel if you were finally healed? You would be over the moon!
Now, try to remember your dreams that have not been fulfilled. Come to God and say, “Dear God, this is my dream. I believe I will receive it at the right time according to Your plans.” Then, carry on with your life fully trusting the Lord and believing that one day, you shall receive the best from Him.
Family Devotion Time
Share your dreams as a family.
Pray together and trust that God will answer your prayers according to His will and timing.
