Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"Sample
The fact about earthquakes is that they can happen in any kind of weather. It is the shaking of the surface of the Earth resulting from a sudden release of energy. The earthquake of our lives comes to shake and wake us up from the locked-up chains of unpredictable situations in our lives, just like how God did it for the apostle Paul.
Whether it’s a problem at home, or you are suffering a financial loss, or your grades are not as you expect them to be. Whether you are diagnosed with an incurable disease, or you have lost a loved one, or anything else.
The good news is that God will never leave you. When earthquakes come and shake our lives, God is there ready to help and set us free. Let’s learn from Paul who remained focused on his tasks at hand and worshipped God even in his darkest hours. All the shakeups that we are going through are there so that we can be set free by the power of God.
Devotion for Parents
When earthquakes happen in our lives, our first instinct usually is to blame God for letting them happen.
Have you ever wondered, what if God let them happen to show His power? To show that He can set us free and give us victory?
We will never know the kind of “earthquakes” we’ll face this year. But one thing is for sure, God is here to help us.
Devotion for Kids
Have you been in a situation that makes you sad and afraid? When that happened, you probably felt alone. But today, know that God is with you in every situation. He will never leave you. He can even work miracles to set you free.
Give thanks to God for He is faithful and always there for you.
Family Devotion Time
Play this game called “Untie my Ties” with the whole family.
Instructions:
●Tie up one family member with fabric or a rope.
●Then he/she must seek help from another member to untie him/her.
●The chosen “savior” has to win a rock-paper-scissors game against other family members to set the tied member free.
●Do it a few times.
What did you learn?
Oftentimes, people fail to help us. But God is always able to set us free.
