Today is victory day! As we celebrate His resurrection, we declare His victory over death and sin.

We have heard the story so often that some of us might feel bored. But, have we really taken the time to think over what would have happened if Jesus had never been resurrected? If He was not raised on the third day, then everything He did on earth, the miracles He performed, His power, His might, everything would have stopped there. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy His blessings today. His life story would have been a story in the past, a legend, a useless memory.

But because He was resurrected on the third day, because He ascended to heaven, and LIVES forever more, then our lives as believers are truly meaningful. We worship a living God. We have a clear purpose in life. Not just that, we can experience His power, His miracles, and everything else that He did.

That’s why we have to be grateful each time we remember His resurrection. Our thanksgiving should be evidenced in what we do every day. Our every word and action should be a reflection of a resurrected God. Have our lives been a testimony to His resurrection?
