Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Look at "Us

DAY 26 OF 31

Let’s not talk about changing others around us when we still struggle with changing ourselves; when we lack motivation and effort. God can use us to be His changing agent only when we are willing to change ourselves and are ready to be used by Him. Our actions speak louder than our words.

In one of my conversations with a fellow parent at school, one mother told me how my daughter had been a great influence for her daughter. Not only had my daughter been a source of encouragement for her to study harder, she was willing to share her knowledge and influence to other friends in a positive way too. She did things such as playing the rubik's cube rather than wasting time on social media all day long. Honestly, I was so proud of her and I am thankful to God for making her an agent of change where God has put her at such a young age. I believe that all of you, too, can be used by God in the most amazing way.

Even though we are currently living in a warped and crooked generation, the Word of God clearly says that we are to live differently from the world, to be blameless and pure children of God. We are not to follow the ways of the world, but live as the light wherever we are. But how? By surrendering our lives completely into God’s hands and making a commitment to change, little by little, one step at a time.

Devotion for Parents
What small changes can you make today? How will you take that first step towards a change in your life?

Devotion for Kids
How do you think pure and blameless children of God should live? You may use your own words to answer this question.

Family Devotion Time
Those little changes that you make everyday will lead you to great transformation. Play a game with your family that relates to changes. For example, perform a set of movements. Then change one of the movements. Let your family guess which movement was changed? Another example would be to stand facing each other. Then carefully study the person in front of you. Next, everyone should turn around and change something about their appearance before turning to face each other again. Then try to guess what changes were made. End today’s devotion with a prayer, asking God to help you change into a better version of yourself every day.
