“What would you do without me?”

Has this phrase ever acrossed your mind? Honestly, I have thought it many times, especially in a teamwork setting. I was on a team of very passive members. I was not the leader of the group, but I might as well have been, because I did all the reminding for the projects to get finished on time. What would they have done without me?

One day, God reminded me that I had it all wrong. I was put on that team for a purpose. In my team, there was this lady who was very good at making presentations. Another memeber was savvy at writing and another person was a wizard at powerpoint slides. And last but not least, one of my teammates was an expert at computers and multimedia. You see, each of us had our own set of strengths and weaknesses. Our strengths complemented each other’s weaknesses and everything worked for the benefit of a great final project.

1 Corinthians 12:26 (NIV), says, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” This is teamwork! In a good team, everyone contributes according to their expertise, working towards the same goal. So, let no single member of a team take all the credit. And of course, don’t blame each other if the project fails.

A family is a team. That’s why each of you needs to work well with one another for harmony. Plan an activity together, such as a holiday. Each person should be responsible for a different task. For example, dad is in charge of choosing the holiday destination, mom is in charge of food, kids plan the activities, etc.
